The placement for the Memorial Statue was carefully chosen to give it a central focal point for all future work on the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial Park.
Once the staking out of the Statue was completed, the next step will be the actual excavating of the footings for the Statue.
The first visible activity at the Memorial Park proving that a firefighters memorial is actually going to be built in Wisconsin Rapids.
The statue is a lifesized bronze sculpture depicting a fallen firefighter in the process of being rescued. The first firefighter is attempting to pull the the individual to safety while the second rescuer is bringing medical equipment to aid in the care of the fallen firefighter.
