2011 Final Alarm Ceremony
THE WISCONSIN STATE FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS URGES YOU, THE FAMILY AND MEMBERS OF THE WISCONSIN FIRE SERVICE, TO JOIN US IN WISCONSIN RAPIDS ON OCTOBER 8, 2011 FOR THE FINAL ALARM CEREMONY AND THE FINAL ROLL CALL OF OUR FALLEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS AT THE WISCONSIN STATE FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL PARK. FOLLOWING THE AFTERNOON CEREMONY, OBSERVE THE FINAL ALARM PROCESSION SOLUMNLY WINDING THROUGHT THE STREETS OF WISCONSIN RAPIDS.
PLEASE JOIN US IN REMBERING OUR FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
3:33 P.M.: FINAL ALARM & ROLL CALL CEREMONY
5:30-6:30 P.M.: DINNER BREAK
7:00 P.M.: FINAL ALARM PROCESSION
Route for the Final Alarm Procession
Leave WSFM heading northeast on 2nd Avenue South. After crossing West Riverview Expressway, 2nd Avenue South becomes 3rd Avenue. Continue on 3rd Avenue to West Jackson Street. (1.7 miles) Turn right on West Jackson Street and cross the Jackson Street bridge. (.2 miles) Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left on 1st Street. (.1 miles) At the traffic light, go straight up the hill on Baker Street to 16th Street. (.75 miles) Turn right onto 16th Street and go to East Grand Avenue. (.35 miles) Turn right onto East Grand Avenue and follow to Lincoln Street. (.7 miles) Turn right onto Lincoln Street, which becomes Market Street, and then East Jackson Street. (.4 miles) Follow East Jackson Street back across the Jackson Street bridge to 3rd Avenue. (.2 miles) Turn left onto 3rd Avenue and go 2 blocks to Johnson Street. (.15 miles) Turn left onto Johnson Street and go 2 blocks to 1st Avenue South. (.1 miles) Turn right onto 1st Avenue South and follow to 3rd Avenue South. (.3 miles) Turn left onto 3rd Avenue South, which becomes 2nd Avenue South, and follow back to the Memorial. Continue past the Memorial approximately 1 mile to Payne Street. (1.85 miles) Turn right on Payne Street and go 1 block to 3rd Avenue. (<.1 miles) Turn left on 3rd Avenue and go 1 block to Hurley Street. (<.1 miles) Turn left on Hurley Street and go 1 block back to 2nd Avenue South. (<.1 miles)
At this point, units can go back north to the West Riverview Expressway to pick up whatever highway they need to get out of town.
